Announcements, greetings and letters of congratulations form an integral part of business practice. These can be strictly formal or plainly informal; though the present trend is to make them as informal as possible.
Announcements, whether formal or informal should be pleasing in form and content; and should have a personal air about them. Formal announcements are usually printed or engraved in black ink or a white or cream card, such as those used for invitations to attend formal functions.
While announcements are obligatory on certain occasions such as shifting offices, opening branches and so on, greetings are not so. But greetings are the graces that make business routine tolerable and even enjoyable. They are, therefore, essential to maintaining good relationships between two establishments, between cramployers and employees, between superiors and subordinates and between colleagues.

Gentlemen:
With the expansion of our range of production we have assumed a new name. Henceforth we shall be known as SINGAPORE CEMENT PRODUCTS LIMITED. All other things including the official address, telephone nos, telex, fax and the cable remain the same as before.
As you are already aware, we do not now limit ourselves to our pioneering product, the Corrugated Asbestos Sheet which still is the best seller in the line in the country. Our most prestigiousproduct now is 'Flexo-Board', Singapore's only Autoclaved (steam-cured) Fibre Cement Flat Sheets. Being autoclaved, they are superior to conventional water-cured fibre cement flat sheets.
Since we have attained international standard in these sheets it solves a number of problems of building constructors. It says good bye to dampening of walls and other water related problems. It also provides protection against moths and termites. Thus it has become more useful and ideal for ceilings, partitions, false ceilings in spinning mills, as dustings in cold storage plants, back up for walls, cupboards, screen printing, table tops and sign boards.
Thus with a new name, we also assume greater responsibilities to serve you better with a much wider range of products.

Changes in legal form of business or the name of the company are usually notified in the newspapers. So are changes in location, telephone numbers, etc. But it is very useful to inform dealers, distributors, agents and the major customers through circulars, for they have the added advantage of sales letters.
